Starting fantasy football players with a top offensive line could be the difference between success or failure. 

Stock Up 1. Denver Broncos

To NFL teams Payton Manning is synonymous to great offensive lines. The 2012 Broncos only gave up one more sack than the top spot Giants. Preseason rank: 2nd overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,832 (16th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.8 (23rd overall)
  • Rushing TD's 12 (16th most overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 21 (Second least in 2012)

Stock Down 2. Detroit Lions

The Lions finished the 2012 season with the ninth best offensive line in the NFL. However, three of their starting five are gone, including both offensive tackles. Preseason rank: 26th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,613 (23rd overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.1 (19th overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 17 (7th overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 29 (9th overall)

3. Chicago Bears

The Bears finished the 2012 season ranked 25th overall in offensive line statistics. Jay Cutler has been sacked a 148 times over the past four seasons. Preseason rank: 28th overall

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Total Rushing Yards 1,970 (10th best overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.2 (14th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 11 (18th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 44 (25th overall)

Stock Up 4. San Diego Chargers

The Chargers finished the 2012 season ranked 29th overall in offensive line statistics. Preseason rank 21st overall. If they can keep Rivers protected the Chargers have a real shot to make a serious run in the playoffs.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,461 (27th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.6 (2nd to last overall)
  • Rushing TD's 4 (Tied with Raiders for dead last)
  • Sacks Given Up 49 (29th overall)

Stock Up 5. New Orleans Saints

The Saints finished the 2012 season having only surrendered 26 sacks (3rd least), but that stat may be distorted due to Brees's ability get rid of the ball. Preseason rank: 15th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,577 (25th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.3 (13th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 10 (22nd overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 26 (3rd least overall)

Stock Up 6. Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals finished the 2012 season ranked 26th overall in offensive line statistics. That might lead to questions about their 2013 projection, but this is a solid unit with lots of depth. Preseason rank: 9th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,745 (18th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.1 (18th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 11 (19th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 46 (26th overall)

7. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas finished the 2012 season ranked 17th in offensive line statistics, mostly due to Romo's ability to avoid sacks. They were close to the bottom in just about all rushing stats. Preseason rank: 27th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,265 (2nd to last overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.6 (30th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 8 (27th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 36 (17th overall)

Stock Up 8. Tennessee Titans

Tennessee finished the 2012 season ranked 21st overall in offensive line statistics. They build on a solid foundation in 2013 and should finish the season in the top 10. Preseason rank: 11th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,687 (21st overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.5 (10th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 10 (21st overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 39 (21st overall)

9. Indianapolis Colts

The Colts finished the 2012 season ranked 23rd overall in offensive line statistics. Colts QB's were hit 116 times (2nd most) last season. Denver QB's got hit just 46 times. Preseason rank: 16th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,671 (22nd overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.8 (24th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 11 (20th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 41 (23 overall)

10. St. Louis Rams

The Rams finished the 2012 season 14th overall in offensive line stats. Preseason rank: 22nd overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,714 (19th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.2 (17th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 5 (30th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 35 (14th overall)

Stock Down 11. Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons finished the 2012 season with the seventh best offensive line. Preseason rank: 19th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,397 (29th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.7 (28th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 12 (13th overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 28 (7th overall)

Stock Down 12. San Francisco 49ers

The Niners finished the 2012 season ranked 24th overall in offensive line statistics. However, they were the best in run blocking and are projected to be a top unit this season. Preseason rank: 3rd overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Total Rushing Yards 2,491 (4th best overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  5.1 (3rd best overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 18 (5th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 41 (24th overall)

Stock Up 13. Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks finished the 2012 regular season with the 12th best offensive line in the NFL. Preseason rank: 18th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Total Rushing Yards 2,579 (3rd best overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.6 (6th overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 16 (10th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 33 (12th overall)

Stock Up 14. Carolina Panthers

The Panthers finished the 2012 season 23rd in offensive line rankings and unfortunately didn't have the financial ability to address those needs in the off season. Preseason rank: 23rd overall. 

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,862 (14th overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.6 (7th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 5 (30th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 35 (14th overall)

15. New York Giants

The Giants finished the 2012 season with the best offensive line in the NFL. Having surrendered the least amount of QB sacks and averaging almost five yards per rushing attempt, there's no reason they won't remain a top five unit in 2013. Preseason rank: 5th overall.

  • *Sacks Given Up 20 (The Least in 2012)

16. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo finished the 2012 season with the tenth best offensive line in the NFL. Preseason rank: 20th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Total Rushing Yards 2,217 (6th overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  5.0 (4th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 12 (14th overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 30 (10 overall)

Stock Down 17. Green Bay Packers

The Packers finished the 2012 season ranked 31st overall in offensive line statistics. As a result Rodgers was sacked a league leading 51 times. This unit is currently in the beta phase of a reshuffling. Only time can tell whether they'll be better. Preseason rank: 21st overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,702 (20th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.9 (22nd overall)
  • Rushing TD's 9 (25th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 51 (2nd most in 2012)

Stock Up 18. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs finished the 2012 season ranked 22nd overall in offensive line statistics. This season the talent and coaching has this unit in the top 10. A reach, maybe, but all the pieces are there. Preseason rank: 10th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Total Rushing Yards 2,395 (5th most overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.8 (5th most overal)
  • Rushing TD's 9 (26th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 40 (22nd overall)

Stock Up 19. New England Patriots

The Patriots finished the 2012 season with the sixth best offensive line in the NFL. Brady alone scored the same amount of rushing TD's as the entire Chargers team. They retained their core unit and should continue their dominance in 2013. Preseason rank: 1st overall.

  • *Total Rushing Yards 2,184 (7th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.2 (16th overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 25 (Most in the NFL)
  • *Sacks Given Up 27 (6th least overall)

Stock Down 20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa finished the 2012 season with the forth best offensive line despite dealing with several key injuries. They will continue that dominance in 2013 as long as they can stay healthy. Preseason rank: 4th overll.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,862 (14th overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.6 (7th overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 18 (5th overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 26 (3rd least overall, tied with the Saints)

Stock Down 21. Washington Redskins

Washington finished the 2012 season with the 13th best offensive line in the NFL. This is still a solid unit, but they must to do a better job protecting the QB. Preseason rank: 13th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • *Average Per Rush  5.2 (2nd Best overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 22 (2nd most overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 33 (13th overall)

Stock Down 22. Houston Texans

The Texans finished the 2012 season with the eighth best offensive line in the NFL. They don't lose a single starter in 2013, but age and injuries have this unit heading in the wrong direction. Preseason rank: 12th overall.

  • Average Per Rush  4.2 (15th overall)

Stock Down 23. Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings finished the 2012 season with the eleventh best offensive line and are projected to be at least a top 10 unit in 2013. Preseason rank: 6th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Average Per Rush  5.4 (The best in 2012)
  • *Rushing TD's 19 (9th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 32 (11th overall)

24. Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles finished the 2012 season ranked 28th overall in offensive line statistics. Injuries and lack of depth make this unit a little shaky. They still do a good job opening up the run game, averaging 4.5 yards per carry. The 9th best overall last season. Preseason rank: 14th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,874 (13th overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.5 (9th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 10 (23rd overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 48 (28th overall)

25. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona finished the 2012 season ranked worst overall in offensive line statistics. Preseason rank: 32nd overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,204 (Dead last)
  • Average Per Rush  3.4 (Dead last)
  • Rushing TD's 10 (24th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 58 (Most in 2012)

26. Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh finished the 2012 season ranked 19th overall in offensive line statistics. Their average 3.7 yards per rush was the third worst in the league. This unit will remain in the deep end of the shady pool. Preseason rank: 24th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,537 (26th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.7 (29th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 8 (28th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 37 (19th overall)

27. Oakland Raiders

The Raiders finished fifth in offensive line stats last season. Mostly for their QB protection. Other than that, they were at the bottom of just about every other key stat and that will be the trend again in 2013. Preseason rank:30th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,420 (28h overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.8 (27th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 4 (31st overall)
  • *Sacks Given Up 27 (5th least overall)

Stock Down 28. Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens finished the 2012 season ranked 20th overall in offensive line statistics. Solid pass protection and great run blocking boosts this line into the top 10 for 2013. Preseason rank: 7th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,901 (11th overall)
  • *Average Per Rush  4.3 (6th most overall)
  • *Rushing TD's 17 (5th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 38 (20th overall)

29. Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars finished the 2012 season ranked 30th overall in offensive line statistics. A work in progress is the term that comes to mind for the 2013 season. At lease they'll have a healthy Jones-Drew (but for how long). Preseason rank: 25th overall.

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,369 (30th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.8 (25th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 5 (29th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 50 (3rd most in 2012)

30. Cleveland Browns

The Browns finished the 2012 season ranked 16th overall in offensive line statistics. We're expecting the youth and talent of this squad to muscle its way into elite status this season. Preseason rank: 8th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,593 (24th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.0 (21st overall)
  • Rushing TD's 15 (12th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 36 (16th overall)

Stock Down 31. New York Jets

The Jets finished the 2012 season ranked 27th overall in offensive line statistics. It's hard to tell how good this unit actually is becauseMark Sanchez makes them look so average. Preseason rank: 17th overall.

Stand out 2012 Statistics:

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,896 (12th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  3.8 (26th overall)
  • Rushing TD's 12 (17th overall)
  • Sacks Given Up 47 (27th overall)

32. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins finished the 2012 season ranked 18th overall in offensive line statistics. This unit will remain a work in progress in 2013. Preseason rank: 29th overall.

  • Total Rushing Yards 1,802 (17th overall)
  • Average Per Rush  4.1 (20th overall)
